Rahman Gumbo parts ways with Gaborone United

Highlanders legend and former head coach Rahman Gumbo parted ways with Botswana side Gaborone United (GU) at the end of last week according to reports.

Gumbo has had a poor season for the Botswana Premier League outfit with managing only 15 points from the first 11 league games and in 8th spot.

Speaking to Botswanapremier league.com Gaborone United chairman confirmed parting ways Gumbo,

‘We can confirm that we have parted ways with the coach. I will say it is rather amicably as opposed to being dismissed.

We talked and saw that the best thing was for both parties to go separate ways.

Gumbo joined Gaborone United in 2014.

With Gumbo’s former club Highlanders needing a new head coach ,he maybe be tempted with a return home.

Gumbo lead Highlanders to two league triumphs in 1992 and 2000 during a golden era for the club.

Meanwhile former CAPS United head coach Mark Harrison seems to be enjoying life in the Botswana Premier League with his team Township Rollers sitting on top of the table with 30 points after 12 games.
