Highlanders chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede has revealed that six local have since submitted their CVs however eyeing the post of assistant coach.

“We since received six CVs from local coaches whom I cannot name because they are still attached to their respective guys.

The six guys are all eyeing the position of assistant coach,” Gumede at the club’s press conference held this afternoon.

About the Dutch coach Erol Akbay who sneaked into the country and took charge of Highlanders FC’s Under-19 training session at Crescent Sports Club in Bulawayo’s Parkview suburb last week after an interview, Gumede said: He just came here for an interview. Get it from the horse’s mouth, he has not been appointed.

Some of the clubs benefactors-not Tshinga Dube- decided to influence him to come in person for the interview.

They gave him a chance to come and present himself.”

Asked on whether they was a possibility of returning either Cosmas Zulu or Amin Soma Phiri who are currently the club’s technical advisor and head coach, an outspoken Gumede, in the presence of Zulu went : “they are not in the league of people who have decided to hire for next season.

They are not the ideal captains to go to the sea.”
