Report: Chicken Inn held by Tsholotsho

Chicken Inn came from behind to force a one all draw against a determined Tsholotsho in pulsating match that was played at White City Stadium this afternoon.

Bustling Simba Gorogodyo put Tsholotsho FC into the lead at the stroke of halftime after he poked a ball that was spilled Chicken Inn goalminder Pride Zendera.

Zendera had failed to collect a goal bound header from hard Lynoth Chikuhwa.

Chicken Inn were subjected to a lot of pressure in the middle of the park with their captain Danny Phiri, Tafadzwa Kutinyu and Clemence Matawu failing to stamp their authority. Consequently, the Gamecocks defence was kept busy by veteran Joel Luphahla, Chikuhwa and hard running Gorogodyo who was heavily monitored by Warriors defender Lawrence Mhlanga and Ben Nyaunzvi.

In simple terms, the first half belong to Lizwe Sweswe’s men.

After the breather, Chicken Inn came back as a determined lot and eight minutes into second half, Joey Antipas’ men were rewarded with a beautiful goal. Hardworking Mitchell Katsvairo coolly nodded home George Majika’s inviting cross. Majika had a good exchange of passes on the left flank before he realised an inviting cross that met Katsvairo who obliged by nodding it past the Tsholotsho goal minder.

The equaliser gave Chicken Inn the much needed impetus were unlucky not to be rewarded with a second goal. Matawu, Devine Magaya, IshmaelLawe, Chirambadare and Phiri took turns to miss.

The results keeps Chicken Inn on track to lift their first title after 2nd placed FC Platinum also dropped points.
