ZIFA Isssues apology to the nation

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has issued an apology to the football fratenity following a meeting of the Executive committee that met in Harare today.

This follows of a series of events that threatened to derail football in the country.

National team coach Callisto Pasuwa was unceremoniasly fired by ZIFA only to be reinstated 48hrs later. Pasuwa’s urgent Gibson Mahachi ddmanded that ZIFA make a public apology for all the accusations labelled against Pasuwa.

The official Zifa website issued a statement by ZIFA President Philip Chiyangwa.

The full statement reads:

1. The Zimbabwe Football Association would like to unreservedly apologise to members of the football fraternity, members of the ZIFA congress, players, Coach Mr Kalisto Pasuwa, his manager Mr Gibson Mahachi, the Warriors technical team, members of the media and all interested stakeholders for the unfortunate disturbances that characterised the Senior national team’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) preparations.

2. The Zimbabwe Football Association Executive committee would like to reaffirm its commitment to service the beautiful game of football in its entirety in line with the mandate bestowed to us by the ZIFA congress.

3. The Zimbabwe Football Association Executive committee also resolved that Coach Kalisto Pasuwa be given a contract of employment as soon as possible.

4. The Zimbabwe Football Association is currently seized with logistics for the technical team and players to resume camp immediately in preparation for the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals.
