There is no heros welcome expected at the National Sports Stadium as the Warriors are scheduled to return back in the country after an unsucessful hunt at CHAN 2016 in Rwanda.

The Warriors finished bottom of group D with 1 point from 3 matches.

ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela confirmed that the players will return in two batches with the first group touching down today at 2pm.

“The first batch of Warriors will touch down at Harare International Airport at 2.30 pm today (Thursday) aboard Ethopian Airways. The second group will arrive tomorrow (Friday) at 1150 aboard Kenya airlines,” Gwesela told the Association’s official website www.zifa.org.zw.

The African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament is a developmental tournament and Zimbabwe were drawn alongside Zambia, Uganda and Mali.

Zimbabwe’s Warriors have appeared at every final tournament since the inception of the CHAN tournament in 2009.
