Zimbabwe national team register worst ever FIFA ranking

The Zimbabwe national team has fallen down the latest FIFA Rankings and is now ranked number 131 in the world.

It’s the worst position the Warriors have ever achieved beating the previous worst of 127 attained in March 2011.

The Warriors dropped a massive 23 places only one place less than the worst mover Libya in the current period.

The slip could be attributed to the Warriors poor showing at CHAN 2016 as well as the improvement of other teams.

Zimbabwe had poor preparations playing no friendlies ahead of the tournament and were found wanting despite creating good chances in all their games as they crashed out at the Group Stage.

Zimbabwe are set to resume qualifiers for AFCON 2017 next month with back to back matches against Swaziland.

In Africa Ivory Coast are still the best ranked side followed by Cape Verde,Algeria,Ghana and Senegal.
