Willard Katsande was on target for Kaizer Chiefs while Evans Rusike also scored for Maritzburg as Kaizer Chiefs edged past Maritzburg in an exciting ABSA Premiership Match.

Katsande opened the scoring in the 4th minute converting a penalty after Camaldine Abraw was brought down in the box. Willard Katsande stepped up and converted the spot-kick.

Maritzburg could have equalised in the 15th minute but Evans Rusike fired wide from a tight angle,

Chiefs doubled their lead through Abraw.

Maritzburg where able to reduce the deficit before the breather courtesy of Tamsanqa Teyise’s header.

Maritzburg eventually leveled matters three minutes after break, as Rusike pounced on a poor back pass from Siyanda Xulu, before calmly slotting pass Pieterse.

Lorenzo Gordinho netted in stoppage time to hand Kaizer Chiefs a 3-2 win over Maritzburg United
