TP Mazembe beat Etoile Du Sahel to lift CAF Super Cup

DR Congo’s TP Mazembe confirmed their supremacy as African football kings after they defeated Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel 2-1 in Lubumbashi.

Ghanaian forward Daniel Nii Adjei gave the African champions a lead as early as 20 minutes heading home off Jean Kasusula cross to send the packed stadium into frenzy.

The striker was at it again in the 45th minute when he volleyed home after an attack initiated by Jonathan Bolingi.

Etoile cut the deficit in the first half stoppage time through Mohamed Msekni, who stabbed home from inside the box after a goalmouth scramble.

In the second half, it was a sea saw affair but the Congo side held on to win a third CAF Super Cup after triumphs in 2010 and 2011.
