After crashing out of CAF Champions League Chicken Inn skipper Danny Phiri says they will now shift focus to defending their league title.
The Gamecocks were beaten 2-0 by Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday in Pretoria to exit the competition on a 2-1 aggregate score line despite giving a good account of themselves.
Speaking to the Chronicle Phiri said, “It was a good experience for us and what we need to do is regroup and focus on defending the title.
Phiri paid tribute to his teammates who he felt played their hearts out over the two legs.
With the league season set to kickoff in early April ,Chicken Inn will now join other teams in pre-season games. This weekend they take on city neighbours Highlanders in the ZNA Charity shield.
