Highlanders and Harare City have progressed to the semi-finals of the ZNA Charity Shield after winning on penalties.
Highlanders beat Chicken Inn 4-2 on penalties while Harare City beat CAPS United 4-3.
Chicken Inn had taken the lead just before the halftime break through Obadiah Tarumbwa but Bruce Kangwa equalised in the 74th minute .Neither team could grab the winner leading to the penalty shootout.
Highlanders keeper Ariel Sibanda was the hero as he saved two penalties from Goddard and Madhazi to give his side a 4-2 win over Chicken Inn.
At Rufaro Stadium Dominic Chungwa’s well taken second half goal seemed to have handed CAPS United a win over Harare City only for Honey Chimutimunzeve to grab a late goal to force the game into penalties.Both teams had wasted chances in regular time and in the end could only manage a 1-1 draw.
In the shootout CHungwa’s day turned sour when he had two penalties efforts saved.
Chungwa’s first effort was saved by Maxwell Nyampendengu but the referee ordered a retake which was saved as well.
Veteran striker Leonard Tsipa had his spot kick saved as well to hand Harare City the win.
Highlanders and Harare City join FC Platinum and ZPC Kariba in the semi-finals.
