Middendorp backing for Evans Rusike

Maritzburg United head coach Ernest Middendorp has given his backing to Zimbabwean striker Evans Rusike.
Rusike has been one of key players at the relegation threatened side and has scored 5 goals this season.

However the German born coach says he is working on giving the player even more confidence.

“I saw him in training for two or three days(when Middendorp arrived) he told the official club website. For me it was very clear that he was a man that has to be given the entire confidence, and support. He was here for a long time, and he didn’t probably didn’t receive the certain support.

“It’s always about assessing and identifying what’s possible. It’s normal, its nothing, I hear other coaches are getting angry. But I see stuff different.

“If I see Evans being available in this position, and getting the support, I think he’s giving it all, and shows what type of striker he is – one of the most qualified in the league, there is no doubt about that,” added Middendorp.

Rusike received a call up from the Warriors technical team for their upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Swaziland at the end of this month.
