Akbay says more work is still to be done on Highlanders squad

Highlanders head coach Erol Akbay says there is still work that needs to be done by his squad but is happy with the progress that is being made

“At the moment we are not clicking 100% together, so that I can say I’m fully happy said Akbay.

“We been working for three weeks together ,the players are starting to understand what I want on the field. What I now have to do is look for the best 11 so that I can say we now have a team now.

“We are 60 or 70% there added Akbay

Meanwhile chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede has revealed that the club’s Dutch head coach Erol Akbay received his official work permit last week.

“Our coach only received his official work permit last week. They still wanted to have an X Ray on his chest to ascertain that he was not bringing any diseases to Zimbabwe.The permit is now on one of passport pages,” said Gumede.

Akbay penned a two year performance based contract with Bosso and on Saturday he leads his charges to a ZNA Charities semi-final tie against FC Platinum at Babourfields Stadium.

Gate charges for the game are $2  for Rest of Ground , $5 Upper Grand Stand and $10 for VIP section.
