Harare City crash out of CAF Confederations Cup

Harare City have crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup after losing 3-1 to Zanaco in Lusaka Zambia.

Harare City lose the tie on a 5-2 aggregate after losing the first leg 2-1 in Harare.

Harare City had a great start when William Manondo scored in the 11th minute. The keeper attempted to keep it out but the referee ruled that the ball had crossed the line.

The goal saw Harare City cause more anxiety for the home side as they continued to add more pressure with their attacks.

On the 36th minute Harare City had a great chance to put themselves two up with a point blank shot saved. However Zanaco launched a counter just after that lead to a corner which Tembo headed in .

Halftime came with the score at 1-1.

Zanaco had a bright start to the second half keeping the Harare City defence busy and looking to take the lead. In the 76th minute substitute Ruzvidzo almost got to the end of Blessing Moyo cross but Zanaco defended well.

With action swinging from one to another more goals were certain to come and it Zanaco that scored. Tembo added his second with another header after a corner in the 78th minute.

With three minutes to full-time Daka added a third for Zanaco to seal the win. The defeat ends Harare City’s maiden campaign in the African Safari.
