Nhamoinesu hails the spirit of the Warriors

Warriors defender and fans favourite Costa Nhamoinesu has rallied behind the Warriors as they prepare to battle Swaziland in a crunch AFCON 2017 qualifier.

Nhamoinesu has been arguable the best performing player for the Warriors after his recent exploits helped his Czech Republic side AC Sparta Prague into Europa League last 8. Sparta are also gunning for the Czech Liga title as they sit on second position, 3 points behind leaders.

In an interview with ZIFA official website, Nhamoinesu praised the spirit of the team and their willingness to do well.

“The spirit is always high, when you are chosen to represent your nation, despite playing in different leagues and different groups. When we come back home we are one team and we work as a unit, most importantly we speak the same language,” added Nhamoinesu.

The rock solid defender urged his teammates to replicate the form they are in at their respective clubs.

“We would like the players to replicate their club form, through hard work it is not hard to replicate it, and this could work to our advantage if we do it well on Friday,” articulated Nhamoinesu.

The Warriors are currently tied on 4 points with their opponents at the top of group L and a win will see the team surge 3 points clear at the summit.

Meanwhile, the team is settling well in Swaziland and will hold a light session at match venue in the morning before plunging into battle later in the day.

The match is scheduled for 1500hrs (Zim time).
