Warriors get $40 000 from gate takings as Chiyangwa blasts police

ZIFA has revealed that $40 000 earned from gate takings will be handed to the Warriors following the victory over Swaziland.

The match was watched by a good crowd at the National Sports Stadium as the Warriors went top of their group.

Board Member Finance,  Machana  said Zifa accrued $92 009 from the 28 063 paying fans,  of which 206 paid for the VVIP tickets,  whilst 2159 paid for the VIP section.

A total $1 550 was raised from the parking bays that have been introduced recently ,  and $965 was raised form the selling of beverages.

According to ZIFA $40 000 was given to the players. Other payments went to various stakeholders that included the City council, SRC, and the police.

Meanwhile ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa has blasted the police for demanding payment soon after the game. Chiyangwa was not impressed by their demands, “Police should be able to protect people without being paid he is quoted saying by the Daily News  .

“It’s better to use private security police officers cannot grab large chunks of money when the real players don’t get anything he added.
