ZIFA expels Edzai Kasinauyo

ZIFA has expelled Edzai Kasinauyo after he was implicated in the match fixing scandal that rocked local football in early March.

Kasinauyo who was believed to be one of the master minds of the match fixing ring that had targeted the Warriors AFCON qualifiers against Swaziland  had initially been suspended.

However today the association announced he was being fired from the board at  a press conference held at ZIFA house

Kasinauyo has been expelled from the the Zifa board after taking his suspension issue to the high Court.

Fifa statutes do not allow taking the matters to a court of law. Zifa chairman  Dr Phillip Chiyangwa said that they have taken this decision because Edzai Kasinauyo has gone against the Zifa constitution.

“According to the Zifa constitution,  matters cannot be taken to court there are ways of resolving this issues in sports and the court of law is not one of them,  thus he has violated the Constitution and we have taken this decision to expel him.

“Furthermore he has also violated his suspension he was not supposed to be involved in any soccer related activities and he recently came budging into my office and that’s another case for expulsion.

We are also going to revoke his license as a player agent and we have since written to Fifa and there is no way back for him.

ZIFA president Philip Chiyangwa had in the past expressed his disappointment with Kasinauyo saying the former Warriors player had betrayed his trust.
