Mubaiwa hints on Silva axing as fights continue

Dynamos president Kenny Mubaiwa has hinted that the club could axe their short-tempered head coach Paulo Jorge Silva.

The Portuguese coach has been making the headlines for the wrong reasons since being named as the new head coach.

Silva has clashed with his own players, technical team and  even attacked a ZBC news  crew. On Saturday he had to be restrained after demanding to see a replay of a penalty claim during Dynamos Castle Lager Premiership match against Chicken Inn.Dynamos went on to lose 3-0 a bad start for the former league champions.

Silva was again in the spotlight yesterday when he clashed with  PHD ministries leader Walter Magaya at Hellenics Sports Club during a friendly.

Silva was reportedly not happy with the tackles made by Gunners players and made his way towards Magaya but was restrained by Magaya’s security team leading to a scuffle.

Silva also had a heated exchange with Dynamos goalkeeper coach Gift Muzadzi.

But now Mubaiwa seems fed up with the antics displayed by Silva. We can’t hire him from Portugal to come and fight people here all the time,” Mubaiwa told Daily News yesterday.

“What we want are results, period. Dynamos is a big team and he cannot keep on like this so maybe we should reconsider his position.

His behaviour is creating divisions in the team which is not healthy. “He should know that there is nothing special about him. He is just like any other coach and if he can’t bring us results he deserves the axe. We never hired him for boxing but to coach football.”
