Highlanders seek permission from Supersport

Following the PSL’S barring of Highlanders’ private camera person to Thandazani Zimbwa to film their matches, Highlanders chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede told journalists at a press conference yesterday that they have since made an application to Supersport for their camera person to be given the go ahead to film their matches.

PSL and Supersport have a broadcast deal that has seen local  PSL Clubs get some money for the Rights and in that regard PSL thought it was not prudent for Zimbwa to film the matches then post them  on YouTube.

“An application has been made to Supersport to have our private camera person to film our matches. We have not gave up because we need these matches filmed for technical purposes.

We have been doing this for years. Perhaps they (PSL and Supersport) need to be persuaded,” said Gumede.

About a fortnight ago, football lovers observed at Barbourfields’ VIP section when Zimbwa had a exchange of words with police officers and PSL officials during the Highlanders versus Tsholotsho FC league match.
