The sky is the limit says Rahman Gumbo

Incoming Chicken Inn  head coach Rahman “Rush”Gumbo says it feels good to bounce back to his hometown Bulawayo after 15 years.

“It feels good to be back in Bulawayo after 15 years. I am happy to come and join defending champions which is a challenge to me.

Chicken Inn is becoming a strong brand and I have thought of becoming part of the brand. I also thought it was time to come close to my family,” said the former Bosso, CAPS United,Motor Action and FC Platinum mentor who has also held successful coaching stints in Botswana and Malawi.

He conceded: “To be frank, I am one of the biggest coaches in this country and the sky is the limit for me. I have been watching local football but for now it’s a question of what I’m going to bring to the local game.”

He however could not be pressed on revealing his assistant but word has it that he is going to be assisted by former Quelaton gaffer Thulani “Thuts” Sibanda who is currently the head coach at Southern Region Division One club Bulawayo Chiefs.

Chicken Inn secretary Tawengwa Hara told journalists that Gumbo was recommended to the club by outgoing Joey Antipas.

Interestingly, the two enjoyed a good working relationship at the now defunct Motor Action with Antipas being an assistant to Gumbo.
