Hwange victorious over How Mine

Hwange went for a third match without conceding a goal as they grabbed maximum points through a two nil win over fellow miners Howmine.

Chipangano came back to winning ways courtesy of an excellent goal from an inform Gift Mbweti who latched onto a Pritchard Mupelele cross in the 15th to curl one past Diya.A calm and collected goal from Pervington Zimunya sealed the win for the coalminers.

The match kicked off with both teams sieing each other up with most play being confined to the middle of the park Howmine’s showing some superb foot work and dribbling skills.

Hwange settled in and capitalized on the visitors lapse in concerntration as Pritchard Mupelele galloped along the left flank and sent a cross that was coolly met by Mbweti  who took a few steps a sent one bulging the visitors nets.

A few minutes later Hwange got a scare as they lost the ball in the midfield and had Kudakwashe Musharu grab the ball and ghosting into the box and almost grabbing the equalizer but unfortunate for him the ball took the part to hit the side netting.

In the 28th Diya came to the visitors rescue as he made a startling save as he had the presence of mind to block a close range shot from Andrew Tshuma who had pounced on Obert Moyos deflected shot.

Kudakwashe Musharu took it upon himself to avenge onslaught from a few seconds ago as he sent a scorcher from afar but was saved easily by an alert Future Sibanda.

The 36th minute inclusion of Toto Banda breathed a new sense of urgency in the Howmine squad as his pace and foot work terrorized the Hwange defences with the visitors going into the break with heightened spirits.

The second stanza began with How Mine still on high tempo in search of a goal with their resilient passing almost paying off as  Charles Sibanda cut through the Hwange defence but sent one agonizingly wide. Sibanda saw yellow after stomping on Innocent Muchenekas foot in frustration.

How Mine were made to pay as they had left their defense open giving Zimunya enough the time to slot one home.

Hwange coach was clearly pleased with his charges.

“We grabbed the win which is pleasing a first Hwange has had against Kaindu, we will work on improving more it was a good game”, said Njekwa.

How Mine coach Kevin Kaindu cut a distraught figure and highlighted that they could have won the match but were out done in defense.

“We gave away the game in defence , we did not play the type of football we play as expected, they capitalized on that and we lost, said Kaindu.
