Border Strikers had been forced to use Maglas Stadium in Zvishavane as they awaited approval.

However the team was given a provisional go ahead last week and judging by yesterday’s 5000 plus crowd that turned out it would be harsh to take it away from the town.

Such was the demand that long winding queues were still visible after kickoff.

It was sad debut though as Border Strikers lost the game 2-1 but the team which has been struggling a bit financially will be happy with the turnout which certainly boost their coffers.

Performances will have to improve if they are to remain in the top flight with Border Strikers currently anchoring the the ZPSL log table with three points.
