Mathe apologises for Leonard Tsipa head butt

CAPS United assistant coach Mark Mathe has apologised for Leonard Tsipa’s head butt that got him sent off in their 1-0 loss to Highlanders.

Tsipa head butted Highlanders defender Peter Muduhwa and was sent off in the 56th minute for the incident.

The sending off proved to be a turning point with Highlanders taking the lead minutes after. Speaking to Supersport after the game Mathe initially said they did not have a good view of the incident but after viewing it while being interviewed admitted the club did not support such acts.

“We apologise for the incident as a club we don’t condone such behaviour said Mathe.

CAPS United had dominated large parts of the game but it was Highlanders that clinched the maximum points to go top at the half way stage of the league.

Highlanders lead the standings with 30 points from 14 games while CAPS United who have played a game more are on 29 points. FC Platinum also have 30 points but are in second place with an inferior goal difference to Highlanders.
