Manchester City suffer first defeat, United held, Arsenal win

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola suffered his  first league defeat of the season when his side went down 2-0 to Tottenham.

Tottenham went ahead in the 9th minute through an own goal by Serbian international Kolarov who turned in a cross by Danny Rose into his own net.

In the 37th minute Dele Alli made it two for Spurs slotting the ball past Manchester City goalkeeper Bravo after being teed up by Heung Min Son.

Tottenham even had the luxury of missing a second half penalty with Dele Alli blowing a chance to add his second of the match when he won a penalty after being brought down by Fernandinho.

The result sees Tottenham cut City’s lead to single point at the top. In an earlier kick off at Old Trafford a Joe Allen goal in the 82nd minute cancelled out Anthony Martial’s 69th minute goals as Manchester United and Stoke City shared the points.

At Turf Moor Arsenal secured a last minute win against a resistant Burnley side. Laurent Koscielny bundled in a late cross to give the Gunners all three points after the home side had absorbed pressure for most of the game

Results:

Manchester United 1-1 Stoke City

Leicester 0-0 Southampton

Tottenham 2-0 Manchester City

Burnley 0-1 Arsenal
