Mapeza fumes after FC Platinum loss ,questions officiating

FC Platinum Norman Mapeza was left fuming with the match officials and believes his side were handed  a “raw deal” in their loss to Harare City.

FC Platinum lost the match 2-1 to suffer a potentially costly setback in the league title race.

Mapeza felt the decisions went against his side and charged at Philani Ncube the main referee after the match.

FC Platinum were down to ten men in the 16th minute when Gerard Takwara was handed a straight red card after a dangerous tackle but Mapeza felt it was a harsh decision. Minutes before Harare City had taken the lead and FC Platinum never really recovered.

Speaking after the match Mapeza said, “I have never complained about the referees but I am not happy, we got a raw deal. I’ am disappointed by this.

“It was difficult for us after losing Takwara to that red card which I think was very harsh. I also thought the guy (Manondo) who scored the second goal was offside.

Mapeza expressed optimism regarding the title chances despite the loss and said they would continue believing with four games left. “I’m disappointed life goes on we will see how the season progresses,we just need to faith in the last four games.

The result sees FC Platinum now only a point above both Highlanders and CAPS United ,CAPS United could overtake Mapeza’s side if they avoid a loss against Border Strikers.
