Nyikadzino out to defend home record against FC Platinum

Chapungu coach John Nyikadzino says he would be going all out for victory when his charges lock horns with FC Platinum in a Castle Lager premiership encounter at Ascot Stadium on Saturday in a Midlands derby.

What makes the encounter interesting is that the platinum miners who are chasing their maiden title have not won at Ascot Stadium since their days in division one.

Nyikadzino who saw a three season record going up in smoke when his charges went down to Highlanders 0 – 1 said has vowed to maintain the  good record.

“We are not worried much about what is happening in the title race but as a team we are focused on meeting our target this season that is finishing in the top eight.

Therefore, our match against FC Platinum is a must win so that we achieve that target,” he said.

“In fact we are looking forward to winning all our remaining three games and so that we safeguard our good home record not only against FC Platinum but Caps United as well.”

Caps United has also not won at Ascot Stadium since the return of “Waru Waru” in the topflight league and the airmen might become the kingmakers of this year’s league title.
