Zimbabwe edge Zambia in International friendly

The Warriors have beaten Zambia 1 nil in an international friendly match played at the National Sports Stadium.

Defender Teenage Hadebe scored the only important goal 10 minutes after the break from a header.

The hosts were rarely threatened throughout the match as the players appeared to be comfortable on the ball.

Zimbabwe were however guilty in the first half of missing clear chances created at goal. Striker Leornard Tsipa gave a good account of himself in the first half despite not getting much of the ball.

Zimbabwe continued to have the better of things in the second half, although Zambia defended resolutely and denied the Warriors chances.

The friendly match will give coach Callisto Pasuwa more options as he seeks to finalize his team for Gabon AFCON 2017. His next match will be against Tanzania next weekend in a match he will gel his foreign based professionals.

The hosts settled for a 1-0 win in the end.

Zambia, meanwhile, will also face Uganda on Tuesday in another friendly as they prepare for a crucial World Cup qualifier against Cameroon.
