I am proud of what I have achieved and have no regrets says Ndumiso Gumede

Highlanders CEO Ndumiso Gumede says he does not regret writing to FIFA and has denied any wrong doing.

The veteran administrator was expelled by ZIFA with the association accusing him of gross violations of the ZIFA constitution and undermining a constitutionally elected leadership.

According to ZIFA, Gumede wrote a letter to the world football governing body, FIFA, peddling falsehoods about a legitimate football leadership; seeking to dissolve a constitutionally elected Executive Committee.

In addition ZIFA claim sought to destabilise smooth football administration by establishing a bogus parallel structure which operated as a ‘ZIFA Working Committee’ in a foiled attempt to seize control of association football from ZIFA.

Speaking on the allegations and ZIFA’s decision Gumede said, “I don’t regret it ,I have done my part and I am glad that after I wrote that letter to FIFA sent Mr Mamelodi here to come and investigate.

“Mr Mamelodi gave all the aggrieved persons the chance to say their side of the story. I am proud to have initiated the visit of FIFA to Zimbabwe so they come and find out the real state of affairs in the country.

“I don’t think I was wrong to alert FIFA on a number of anomalies in Zimbabwean football. “I was representing all aggrieved persons, people owed money ,former ZIFA employees who to this day have not been given their letters of termination let alone being paid their benefits.

“It’s been long time that I have been in football (since 1974) and I am proud of what I have achieved in football, this in my view is a tiny blemish in my long and illustrious career in football.
