ZIFA demands answers from Cuthbert Dube,Twine Phiri and co.

ZIFA has demanded answers from the previous administration regarding the debt they left  the association with as well as other matters.

Chiyangwa’s administration inherited a debt that had ballooned to over $7 million among other issues.

A statement from ZIFA read:

Following the commission of inquiry into the state of football at the behest of the Sport and Recreation Commission (SRC), the Dube-led executive committee and its head of secretariat, Jonathanan Mashingaidze is obligated to respond to the commission’s findings.

The commission’s findings were forwarded to the former administrators but they have not yet responded to issues that require their immediate attention.

Dube and fellow executive committee members, Twine Phiri, Fungai Chihuri and John Phiri; together with former Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Mashingaidze are all obliged to explain their part in the accumulation of the US$ 7 million debt in writing to the SRC within the next seven (7) days.

Ndumiso Gumede, Miriam Sibanda, Elizabeth Langa and Brig. Elliot Kasu (Retired) served under Dube at some point and they are also compelled to respond to the commission’s findings sent to them three weeks ago.

The association has had a busy week suspending PSL Chairman Peter Dube ,expelling Highlanders CEO Ndumiso Gumede and handing suspensions to Bulawayo City officials.
