ZIFA lodge official complaint with CAF

ZIFA have officially written to CAF to protes the officiating in the Mighty Warriors loss to Egypt on Tuesday.

Zimbabwe were denied a genuine equaliser in a Group A match that leaves them facing a tall order to qualify for the next round.

The officiating has drawn criticism both locally and on the continent.

A statement from ZIFA read:

The Zimbabwe football Asscoaition would like toregister our official complaint over the conduct of Burundi referee Suavis Iratungu in the Group A match between Zimbabwe and Egypt at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations at the Stade deYaounde in Cameroon on November 2016.

We believe the referee made a number of biased decisions against Zimbabwe in particular her decision in the 84th minute to disallow for offside the goal by Zimbabwe player Felistas Muzongondi.

That denied goal resuled in Zimbabwe losing a game they could have come out with at least a point as it would have made the scores 1-1.

We believe your esteemed office has a way to review performance of match officials and conduct of team and kindly ask you to do the same with the match officials in the above mentioned game
