Nyikadzino wary of CAPS United ahead of title decider

Chapungu coach John Nyikadzino has said his side would approach the game against title chasing Caps United with caution when the two sides clash in the final Castle Lager premiership encounter today.

A win by Caps United will seal the title regardless of the outcome of the Tsholotsho/ FC Platinum encounter at Luveve on the same day.

Caps United who are on 60 points need maximum points to pip the platinum miners to the title who are two points adrift.

For Chapungu it’s a must win encounter if they entertain any chances of winning surviving the dreaded chop should Zifa councilors have their way of relegating four teams this season.
“Waru Waru” are fourth from bottom with 32 points. Nyikadzino said his side would not underestimate the Green
Machine citing their history but that was before he also made his intentions of winning today’s encounter.

He said: “This is a game we would like to pick maximum points considering that we are playing at home. We want to appease our fans after losing the last match we played at home against FC Platinum and in this particular game we would want to make amends.”

“However, we are facing a team that is on a rollercoaster, a team that is chasing the title and a team that has got a history- a better history than Chapungu and therefore we will be very cautious in our approach. “We are well prepared for the match,” added Nyikadzino.

The long serving Chapungu gaffer has headaches going into today’s match with his dressing room resembling a hospital ward where Hillary Mugoniwa, Rodwell Mhlanga, Nhanhla Ncube and skipper Phillip Marufu having suffered knocks ahead of today’s encounter. Mhlanga and Marufu could however, pass late fitness tests
