We have to make AFCON count says Katsande

Warriors skipper Willard Kastande says they simply need to make their AFCON appearance count as it may the last major tournament some players are likely to feature in.

The Warriors will be making only their third appearance at the continental showcase and with some players nearing 30 years AFCON presents likely last big opportunity to do represent the the country.

Zimbabwe is in a tricky Group B which contain Senegal,Tunisia and Algeria

“We have to try and give our all,you will never know tomorrow we might not make it said Katsande. “Some of us we are now reaching 30’s this may be our last chance to play at AFCON.

“For the young ones you never know tomorrow holds in terms of football ,you might not get another opportunity to play at the highest stage in Africa .

“This is time for all of us to put our heads together,whatever other things like politics we need to leave it all behind and give our best even if there is nothing to play for .

Meanwhile the Warriors foreign based contingent got down to business yesterday at Gateway with training finally getting underway after the accommodation hiccups  Cuthbert Malajila,Matthew Rusike,Evans Rusike,Costa Nhamoinesu, Marvelous Nakamba,Onismor Bhasera were all present.

Billiat, Knowledge Musona and Nyasha Mushekwi are expected to have joined camp by Thursday( today).
