Warriors handling Khama Billiat with extra caution

The Warriors technical has admitted they are taking extra caution with Khama Billiat to avoid pushing the Mamelodi Sundowns forward too far physically.

Billiat has had a memorable but hectic year at both club and national team level . Billiat was a key figure as Sundowns won the ABSA Premiership and the CAF Champions League and is also in the running for the CAF Player of the Year based in Africa award.

Sundowns had pleaded with the Warriors technical team to manage Billiat well and they seem to have heeded to the calls.

Billiat joined the rest of the Warriors camp yesterday but has not started training yet and team manager Shariff Mussa admitted they were taking Sundowns advice seriously.

“We have to follow the recommendations from his club Mussa told the Herald. He has played a lot of games and they say he should get some rest, which is probably is the best thing for him now.

Billiat and the rest of the squad will undergo mandatory medicals to assess their fitness this week ahead of the final squad being named.
