Warriors forward Khama Billiat has been given some extended time off and is yet to officially join camp according to ZIFA.
Billiat linked up with the Warriors yesterday together with Nyasha Mushekwi and underwent medicals but has been given some time days off as he recuperates after a hectic last few months.
Billiat did also visit his teammates at yesterday’s training session.
Team manager Shariff Mussa was quoted saying they felt he needed some time to rest and it was only fair.
Billiat though has attracted criticism after social media reports and pictures emerged suggesting he was busy having a good time and enjoying himself while other players are sweating in camp. Its it not really clear when and where the pictures were taken and if the reports are true.
However asked to comment on the reports circulating ZIFA spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela said players personal lives were not in their jurisdiction.
“We cannot comment on what players do with their personal lives outside of camp Gwesela told Soccer24. Billiat is yet to join camp and thus could not have left camp as suggested.
“He has been given a few days and will join the rest of the team soon we cannot comment further than that.
On the atmosphere in camp Gwesela said morale was high and players were in good spirits ahead of the tournament.
Belgium based Knowledge Musona is still to join camp with Warriors team manager Sharif Mussa saying they were working on his in-ternary.
