Musona resumes training

The Warriors camp have been boosted by the return to training of talisman Knowledge Musona ahead of a do or die last Group B encounter against Tunisia.

Musona who lasted just 12 minutes of the opening encounter against Algeria, did not take part in Zimbabwe’s disappointing show leading to the 2-0 defeat at the hands of Teranga Lions of Senegal.

According to the Herald, Musona has resumed light training and is recovering impressively fast.

Speaking to the Herald, Warriors team doctor Nicholas Munyonga confirmed The Smiling Assassin’s quick recovery emphasizing that they will continue monitoring him.

“There has been significant progress towards recovery for him. The scan that was done did not show any tear. We remain hopeful that he will be able to play on Monday as he has since started light training under observation.

“He started the light training on Wednesday,” said Munyonga.

The Warriors have since traveled to Libreville for their last group encounter against Tunisia. The Warriors can still qualify for the Knockout stage if and only if they beat Tunisia while Algeria drop points against Senegal who have already qualified.
