Tunisia vs. Zimbabwe: Warriors Player Ratings

Zimbabwe crashed out of the 2017 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations after losing to Tunisia 4-2 at the Stade d’Angondje, Angondjé, Libreville, Gabon.

Soccer24 runs its rule on Warriors player ratings:

Tatenda Mukuruva 6.0 – could have particularly done better on the third goal. He however made a couple of decisive saves. He did not make too many mistakes. Mostly, he was a victim of defensive confusion.

Hardlife Zvirekwi 5.0 – The Caps United fullback had a quiet game and on several times left the goalkeeper exposed. Hardly did much going forward. His runs up and down did not contribute much.

Elisha Muroiwa 4.0 – hardly did much in the opening moments of the game to stop Tunisia and kept making decisive mistakes throughout the game. Deflected and caused the first goal and could have done better on the third goal.

Costa Nhamoinesu 4.0 – made several decisive mistakes foreign to his reputation. Was too physical than tactical and caused a penalty which led to the fourth goal. Was lucky not to see red on 11 minutes. Failed to close down Niguez for the third goal who comfortably passed between Nhamoinesu and Bhasera.

Onisimo Bhasera 5.0 – failed to make the necessary presence at left back. He was also nut-megged on the first goal. Failed to close down Niguez for the third goal who comfortably passed between Bhasera and Nhamoinesu.

Willard Katsande 5.5 – made several midfield mistakes, failed to establish a working game plan to protect the defence. Had a slow start to the match.

Marvelous Nakamba 5.0 – failed to make an impact against a not so good Tunisian midfield. Was not creative enough to make his forwards score.Had couple of long range efforts that were off target

Danny Phiri 5.0 – did not have the expected impact after being benched against Senegal. Failed to chase Slithi who set up Tunisia second goal.  Was often physical and was substituted after picking a yellow.

Khama Billiat 5.7 – appeared to fall victim to frustrations. Did not often utilise his pace against the rush of the Tunisians. However, he made one decisive run which led to the warriors second goal.

Nyasha Mushekwi 5.0 – failed to have an impact upfront. Did not seem composed enough to cause damage upfront. Assisted Warriors’ first goal.

Knowledge Musona 7.0 – did not make many mistakes. Scored the first goal out of sheer brilliance and assisted the second.

Tendai Ndoro 6.0 – came on at half-time, tried to make surges forward with incessant runs. Brought the warriors attack to life. Scored the Warriors’ second goal.Should have started more games at AFCON 2017!

Kuda Mahachi 0.0 – came on with just a few minutes to go. Did not touch the ball enough to be rated.
