Algeria head coach resigns, Pasuwa set to follow?

Georges Leekens has resigned as the national team head coach of Algeria following their early exit from AFCON 2017.

Leekens’ team like the Warriors were knocked out of the competition as Senegal and Tunisia proceeded to the quarterfinals from Group B.

A lot had been expected from Algeria that had a star studded squad that included African player of the Year Riyard Mahrez.

Speaking on his decision to resign Leekens thanked the Algerian FA and the fans but said “For the benefit of everyone, I prefer to stop.

Meanwhile news filtering out of the Warriors camp suggest Warriors head coach Callisto Pasuwa has decided to resign as well after a disappointing show in Gabon.

Pasuwa is understood to have been contemplating the decision for a while especially in light of a difficult working relationship with ZIFA.

ZIFA are also set to review his position in the coming days but sources close to Pasuwa suggest he had made his mind up.
