Yaya Toure returns to Manchester City Champions League squad

Yaya Toure has been included into the City’s Champion league team.

Toure and new acquisition Gabriel Jesus have been both included in the squad replacing IIkay Gundogan and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Yaya Toure was earlier left out of City’s squad for the group stages, sparking a war of words between manager Pep Guardiola and the midfielder’s agent Dimitri Seluk. The war Led to Toure being exiled from the city’s squad with Guardiola demanding a public apology.

However, Guardiola eventually brought Toure back into the team after he apologized in November last year. He has since re-established himself as an important member of the team; converting a goal from a penalty kick in a four- nil win over West Ham in a match played last night.

Manchester City will meet Monaco in the round of 16 with the first leg scheduled for February 21 at the Etihad.
