Dynamos team manager, Richard Chihoro, has said that the former premier league champions will this year chase the premier league title in hot pursuit despite major squad changes.
Dynamos, who haven’t won the league in two years and finished third in the 2016 premier soccer league and will be looking to end the drought with a younger squad.
“We want to win the league title, we don’t care we are undergoing rebuilding,” Chihoro told soccer24 upon return from Mozambique, in the context of their preparations for the coming season.
Dynamos travelled to Mozambique last Saturday where they beat Mocambola side Chingale de Tete 2-0 at the Dispotivo D Tete Stadium and returned on Monday ahead of the CAPS United match on Sunday. Emmanuel Mandiranga scored in the 22nd minute and Takunda Sadiki finished the game with a wonderful strike on 46 minutes. Chingale de Tete finished 12th on the Mocambola league table last year.
“It was a good trip, we had a nice time [in Mozambique]. We played very well, just that it was very hot with temperatures souring up to 40.
“We had a beautiful squad which played there. We just need to work on blending the youth and experience.
Dynamos offloaded older, experienced players such as striker`Roderick Mutuma, midfielder Steven Alimenda and defender Sydney Linyama at the start of the year amid accusations of player insurbodination and other issues to do with squad imbalance.
