Chitembwe Happy With Win Ahead Of T.P Mazembe

CAPS United coach, Lloyd Chitembwe, has said he’s happy with their 3-1 victory in the Commander Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA)’s Charity Shield ahead of the CAF Champions League away match to TP Mazembe.

United will play T.P Mazembe in the preliminary round first leg match in Kinshasa DR Congo next weekend.

“For us it’s important to go out there and get a result. This is the most important thing. It’s not about Dynamos [and] CAPS [United]. [It’s about] whoever you play [and] our target is always to win the games. I’m happy [that] for now, we are on course.

“I’m very happy with this kind of preparation ahead of the [T.P] Mazembe game”, Chitembwe told journalists after the match.

Chitembwe expressed satisfaction with the victory as CAPS United progressed to the final of the charity shield where they will meet either FC Platinum or Highlanders, whose semi-final match at Baboufields Stadium in Bulawayo was postponed due to water logging on the pitch.

“I thought its good always to win games and football is a game of scores and today we did score. Last week we scored two [against Lioli FC] and today we scored three. We are happy with the progress considering the fact that we are still in our pre-season and that a team [is] gelling like a team. It gives me confidence and satisfaction,” he said.
