Harare City have appointed Mike Madzivanyika and have been forced to demote Mkhuphali Masuku from the head coach position as the latter does not have the required CAF A licence.
Masuku is a holder of the CAF B licence and a UEFA B licence.
New Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) requirements stipulate that each Premier Soccer League coach and their assistant should have a CAF A licence.
Harare City had initially insisted that Masuku would be their head coach despite not possessing the required qualifications but have now made a u-turn and appointed Madzivanyika as the club’s new head coach ahead of the start of the Premier Soccer League season.
Harare City secretary general Matthew Marara announced the change and said Madzivanyika had assumed duties as of yesterday (Monday).
The ZIFA regulations have forced clubs to reshuffle their technical teams in recent weeks.
Last week Dynamos appointed Biggie Zuze as assistant coach and reassigned Murape Murape to the junior structures at the club while Yadah Stars had to replace Kuda Masarure with Jairos Tapera.
