Nation Dube Back At Hwange

Nation Dube has bounced back as Hwange head coach after his match fixing ban was lifted by the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) a few weeks ago.

Dube was suspended by Hwange in March 2016 after he was implicated in the Limpopo gate match fixing scandal and other matches that included the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2016 tournament.

Edzai Kasinauyo , Henrietta Rushwaya and former Warriors head coach Ian Gorowa were also accused of plotting to fix matches by ZIFA.

However, after being cleared of any wrongdoing in court late last year, ZIFA lifted the sanctions that had been imposed on Dube, Gorowa, Kasinauyo, Jerry Sibanda and Philani Ncube.

Speaking on his return to Hwange, Dube, who has always stated his innocence, has said:

“It feels good to be back and I am confident that the side we have assembled will do well this season”.

Hwange have already finalised their 28 man squad for the upcoming season but face a tall order after losing a number of key players in the off season including their top goal scorer from last season Gift Mbweti who has joined FC Platinum.

Other key players who have also left are Pervington Zimunya , Pritchard Mpelele and Newman Sianchali.
