Denver Mukamba Wants To Be Soccer Star Of The Year Again This Year

Dynamos midfielder, Denver Mukamba, has said he wants to be the Castle Lager Soccer Star Of The Year for the 2017 premier league season.

The 2012 Castle Lager Premier League Soccer Star of the year played for Bidvest Wits in South Africa for three years before returning to the former premier league champions mid season last year.

“I want to take the soccer star of the year award again in 2017. I’m promising everyone,” Mukamba told Socce24.

The 25-year-old spent the 2014 – 2015 season on loan University of Pretoria where he made 20 appearances for Tuks, scoring three goals, before being further loaned out to relegated Jomo Cosmos, where he made 14 appearances and scored two goals in all competitions.

The dazzling, talented midfielder has not been the same player he was when he last lifted the premier league trophy with Dynamos in 2012. Recently, Dynamos coach, Lloyd Mutasa, said he had to axe several players in order to give Mukamba and several other players some quality opportunities.

“I’m still the old Denver Mukamba. It’s just that I was affected by lack of game time in South Africa, but now I’m 100%.

“People know that I am a quality player and I have to work hard to surpass the stage I was as a soccer star of the year [in 2012].

“You must work hard if you want to achieve, if you want to be the soccer star [of the year]. You must committ to extra training. Extra training is very important,” he said.
