Ndiraya Happy With Important Away Goal

Ngezi Platinum Stars coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, has said that he is happy with the team’s away goal despite losing in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary stage second round first leg match against Clube Recreativo Desportivo do Libolo of Angola on Saturday.

Ngezi Platinum Stars lost 2-1 away to the Angolans in a match which they could arguably have done better. Forward, Liberty Chakoroma, scored the equalizer 10 minutes after the hosts had opened the scoring through Brazilian forward, Fabrício Simões.

“From the onset I think we wanted to get a positive result and a positive result was to get a scoring draw or a win but that didn’t happen. But I’m very happy that we managed to come back with a very important goal which can assist us in the second leg,” Ndiraya told Soccer24.

“We are not forgetting that we played a very good team and it would need us to work even extra hard to get a result here. It is a good side, but it can be beaten”.

Ngezi could have leveled matters in the last minutes of the match but Zambian first assistant referee, Kabwe Chansa, controversially ruled forward Terrence Dzvukamanja’s goal offside.

Ngezi host Clube Recreativo Desportivo do Libolo in the return leg this weekend at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.
