100 member TP Mazembe delegation jetting in on Friday

DRC side TP Mazembe are expected in the country this afternoon (Friday) ahead of their crunch CAF Champions League match against CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

According to ZIFA the five time African Champions are bringing in a 100 member delegation through aboard a private flight and are expected at 14:15.

TP Mazembe are keen to avoid being knocked out early in the competition after being held by CAPS United at home.

Speaking ahead of the game TP Mazembe head coach Thierry Froger admitted he side faced a tall order in an unknown team to them like CAPS United and would have wanted more time to prepare for the match.

Angolan side Recreativo do Linbolo who take on Ngezi Platinum on Saturday at 14:00Hrs arrived in the country yesterday night.

Meanwhile CAF has revealed the match officials for both matches. Seychelles referee Bernard Camille will officiate the CAPS United v TP Mazembe match while Comoros Ali Mohamed Adelaid will be in charge for the Ngezi Platinum v Recreativo do Libolo match.

Camille has attracted controversy in the past most notably his officiating of Orlando Pirates game against TP Mazembe in 2013 where he sent sent off Pirates captain Lucky Lekgwathi  and then went on to award TP Mazembe two penalties and added on 10 minutes of injury time at the end but the South African side still proceeded despite losing 1-0.
