Billiat itching to get back to action after injury

After sitting in the sidelines for the most the second half of the season, Khama Billiat says he is itching for a return to the field of play.

Khama Billiat says there is now a big light at the end of his injury tunnel as he looks set to make a come back after a lengthy injury in the upcoming fixture.

Although the midfielder isn’t quite ready for a return to action yet, it is hoped that the speedy winger will be back in contention by the time the squad reassembles after the international break and he admits he is itching to be given the green light to get back on out onto the pitch.

“The hardest part about this injury hasn’t been the pain or getting over it, but it has been driving to the games to go and watch the team, instead of being with them playing,” Billiat told IOL .

“It was hard because I am not used to that. I am used to being in the bus, psyching up myself for the match. But I had to accept that I am not there and must work on getting fit.”

Billiat also spoke about his team’s defence for the CAF Champions League title.

“We have to show up as the defending champions. We have to come to the tournament stronger than what we were last year.

“We obviously have to come out with different tactics and redefine ourselves. That will make us better players at the end,” the 26-year-old added.

“I am sure everyone is ready, like I am. We will go out there with the desire to keep the trophy here.”

The group stage draw will take place on April 26 in Cairo.
