It’s a massive result – Mapeza

FC Platinum head coach, Norman Mapeza, has said that their premier league 1-0 win over Dynamos away in Harare is a massive result.

The two teams clashed in their opening fixture of the 2017 Castle Lager Premier League at the National Sports Stadium with FC Platinum extending their premier league dominance against Dynamos to three consecutive games.

Addressing journalists after the match, Mapeza said he is happy with the three points and had been looking forward to grabbing a result against the former premier league champions.

“It’s a massive result for us, we came here looking for a positive result and that’s exactly what we got,” he said.

FC Platinum have kept a clean sheet against Dynamos in the premier league for the third time coming recording a 1-0 score line after previously recording a 1-0 and a 2-0 score line respectively.

FC Platinum midfielder, Winston Mhango, scored in first half extra time from the penalty spot after Dynamos midfielder, Tichaona Chipunza, had handled the ball just inside the area.

“I’m happy for the boys who worked so hard. We just need to keep going and see how the season progresses,” he said.

However, Mapeza refused to be drawn into FC Platinum’s premier league title chances insisting that it would be premature to make projections after one win.

“It’s still too early; still too early. It’s like now we just had a kid; a new born baby and expect him to walk. It’s too early. We’ll see as the season progresses,” he said.
