Golden Arrows coach explains Kuda Mahachi dip in form

Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen has explained why Zimbabwe International Kuda Mahachi has had a sudeen drop of form.

The midfielder who moved to Arrows on a permanent move from Sundowns has not been able to replicate the form he had whilst he was at the club on loan.

Mahachi lost his daughter Dineo, aged four years last year in May and in an interview with KickOff.com Larsen said that the player has been coming to terms with the loss of his daughter which has affected his game.

“Mahachi, in the first round of the league, a lot of people don’t know he lost his four-year-old baby girl, so he went through a tough time in the first round,” explained the Arrows mentor.

“He missed a big chunk of games probably 10 games, so it’s a little bit unfair to judge him on this season because he went through a lot personally.

“But he’s fine now, he’s back in good form, the energy is back, he’s looking lively and I think he’s done very well. He’s been one of our more consistent players in the last five or six games.” he added.

Larsen also expressed confidence that the player will regain his confidence in the games to come.

Earlier this year, Mahachi dedicated his goal at AFCON 2017 to his daughter. Africa saw a crack of a goal from Kudakwashe Mahachi when he opened the score sheet in the Warriors versus Algeria duel at the Afcon tournament in Gabon earlier this year, but no one knew there’s pain where the goal came from.

She was his everything and he vowed to do his best at the tournament for her.

“I dedicate that goal to my late daughter Dineo. She was so special to me. I was doing everything for her. I greatly miss her,” said a seemingly emotional Mahachi speaking after the match in which the Warriors drew 2-all against the Desert Foxes.
