Dynamos and Highlanders through to Uhuru Cup final

Cameroonian Christina Ntouba came off the bench to score the winner as Dynamos beat CAPS United 1-0. 

The game started with high intensity as both teams searched for the early goal. Dynamos had the slight edge but CAPS United did well to suffocate their attack as action swung from one end to another in the first half.

In the 25th minute Dynamos were dealt an early blow with Quality Kangadze limped off with an injury and replaced by Ntouba.

Minutes later Denver Mukamba was also taken off with an injury and replaced by Wisdom Mutasa.

In the 44th minute CAPS United were awarded a penalty after Peace Makaha’s foul on Bamusi. However Ronald Pfumbidzai hit the upright as CAPS United failed to capitalise.

The half ended with heavy rains hitting the National Sports Stadium damaging the playing surface.

The second half saw both teams struggle on the slippery surface .Dominic Chungwa failed to take good chances as CAPS United came close again in the 60th minute.

In the 65th minute CAPS United were reduced to ten men when Musaruruwa was shown a red card after he missed the ball and hit Sadiki with a high boot in the chest.

In the 77th minute Ntouba clinched the winner when he headed in Ocean Mushure’s free kick.

Emmanuel Mandiranga almost made it two with a well taken shot while Bamusi could have clinched a late equaliser but it was not to be as Dynamos booked their place in the final.

Dynamos will now face Highlanders who edged FC Platinum 4-3 on penalties after the match had ended goalless after regular time.Ralph Matema,Prince Dube, Peter Muduhwa and Allen Gahadzikwa converted their spot kick’s for Highlanders. Raphael Mudubiwa’s kick was saved by Ariel Siband while Nqobizitha Masuku could only sky his effort 

The final is set for the National Sports Stadium on the 18th of April.
