Bukhosi Sibanda strike earns Bantu Rovers first league win

Bukhosi Sibanda was the Bantu Rovers hero as his goal earned Methembe Ndlovu his first win in charge of the Tshintsha Guluva this season after a 1-0 home Premiership victory over Triangle.

Rovers first win at the 3rd attempt came when Bukhosi Sibanda scored in the 80th minute.

It was a game of mixed fortunes for both teams who both created chances but failed to convert.

Triangle where the first to threaten early in the match but Russel Madamombe chance face to face with keeper Chimusoro was saved in the 9th minute.

There was an anxious moment for Triangle when goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu hesitated leaving his line. Munyaradzi Chitambwe spotted the opportunity as he headed at goal and the ball did cross the line but Triangle had the referee to thank as a foul was adjudged on the goalie.

Bantu Rovers appeared to have more quality and were more assured and with young Bukhosi Dlamini over-lapping down the left they gained in confidence.

The game went into the breather goalless.

Following a half-time pep talk from Methembe Ndlovu, Bantu Rovers were certainly more dangerous with the midfield finally making an impact.

Triangle, however, looked the more dangerous and the out-of sorts Tony Sibelo managed to find the back of the net only to be ruled offside.

The goal did eventually come with just under 10 minutes left of play. Bantu Rivers broke the deadlock from Bukhosi Sibanda who made no mistake from a delightful Chirinda pass.

The Premiership returnees held on to pick up their first points of the season after having lost their opening two games.
