Dynamos deny players strike

Premier League giants, Dynamos, have categorically denied reports that their players are on industrial action ahead of the Harare derby against CAPS United.

Several reports were in circulation yesterday that a salary row at the club had taken a turn for the worse with players reportedly having gone on strike in protest over unpaid wages.

“Those are what we call lies. Yesterday we were in training and today we also trained at Morris Depot. There is no problem at Dynamos. Everything is okay,” Dynamos team manager, Richard Chihoro, told Soccer24.

“Tomorrow we are training at Motor Action Sports Club. You are even free to attend that session to verify that there is no players strike at Dynamos”.

12th placed Dynamos are on seven points, five points behind log leaders Highlanders and face an uphill derby task against fierce city rivals CAPS United in their next fixture in the Castle Lager Premier League.

The beleaguered former premier league champions have seen fortunes take a distressing turn since winning the league title back in 2014.

In January this year, there was an exodus of several senior players which left the club on accusations of insubordination, leaving behind a youthful first team which is yet to have a grip on their title hunt in the 2017 season which began early in April. Recently, players have reportedly expressed discontent over unpaid dues as the club braces for a potential major shift in power in the premier league.
